Vehicle Mounted Convoy Protection

Mobile jamming systems are installed in vehicles to protect a convoy from remote-controlled explosives and unauthorized communications and drones.

The major challenge with these systems is their power supply. JamS has developed extra special alternators that can be fitted in any type of vehicle to ensure an adequate supply of power. Our Systems are tailor made for each client to fit their individual needs, from antenna configuration to the transmitter system.

THREATS

Protecting a VIP convoy involves a unique set of threats and challenges that must be addressed. Before any movement of the VIP, special teams work to identify potential threats and risks by creating a security plan, which includes vehicle screening, route planning, and the use of security personnel and equipment. Coordinating with law enforcement agencies and implementing counter-surveillance measures are also crucial to detecting and deterring any potential attacks.

Remote control improvised explosive devices (RCIEDs), roadside bombs, radio-activated bombs, and unseen remote-controlled explosives proximate to or inside a car are common threats to VIP convoys, particularly in conflict zones.
In recent years, terrorists have also begun to use commercial drones to plan attacks on convoys with explosives, posing a significant threat.

To address these threats, JamS AG has developed convoy jammers that can prevent explosive devices from being triggered by remote controls. Additionally, the alternator and batteries must be replaced to ensure sufficient electricity supply. Our unique system can also block drone communication signals, preventing the drone from reaching its intended target.

Convoy jamming system can provide an effective defense against a wide range of potential threats to a convoy, ensuring that it can complete its mission safely and successfully.

Inhouse production

The electronic components and circuit boards for our signal generators, power amplifiers, and antennas are manufactured in house and control systems are assembled and tested in our electronic assembly line.

Alternator
JamS has developed additional alternators that can be fitted in any kind of car to ensure proper power supply.

AC
For permanent operation in all enviroments, we can extend the cars AC system or install a complete independent AC to cool our systems.

Power Supply System
To have an efficient jamming system, the output power of the system needs to be high. This requires a power generator that can supply the system during operation. The devices can operate independent from the original or modified car alternator or from additional power generator to ensure 24/7 operation away from fixed power sources.

System

Alternators are an important component of a car’s electrical system, responsible for generating electricity to power the vehicle’s electrical systems and recharge the battery. In the context of a convoy jammer, the alternator plays a critical role in ensuring that the jammer can continue to operate and supply power even in remote or hostile environments.

To integrate an alternator into a car for convoy jamming purposes, several steps are typically involved. First, the car’s electrical system must be designed to accommodate the additional power demands of the jamming system.

Once the electrical system has been modified, the jamming system can be installed and connected to the car’s power source. This may involve running additional wiring and installing a custom mounting bracket or enclosure for the jammer. The alternator is then connected to the car’s engine using a belt and pulley system, which converts the rotational energy of the engine into electrical power that can be used to power the jamming system.

To ensure that the alternator can supply power consistently and reliably, it is important to monitor its output voltage and current using specialized gauges or sensors. This allows the jamming system operator to ensure that the electrical system is functioning properly, and that the alternator is generating sufficient power to meet the demands of the jammer.

Overall, integrating an alternator into a car for convoy jamming purposes requires careful planning and installation to ensure that the system is reliable and effective in providing the necessary power to keep the jammer operational in challenging environments.

Specifications

The specifications of a convoy jammer will vary depending on the specific needs of the user and the threat environment.

The frequency range of the jamming system is essential as it determines the types of signals that can be jammed. A typical convoy jammer may cover a frequency range of 20 MHz to 6 GHz or more, depending on the client’s request.

The power output of the jamming system is another critical specification, as it determines the effective range of the jamming signal. Convoy jammers can be installed quickly and easily on a variety of vehicle types. It should also be rugged and able to operate in harsh environments.
The specifications of a convoy jammer will depend on the specific needs of the user and the threat environment and will vary based on factors such as frequency range, power output, operating time, mobility, and integration capabilities.
